Last month I was commissioned to make a jacket from a yak wool scarf. This jacket was based on a previous jacket which was sadly stolen from the client at a festival so I had images to base the new design on.

I have never made a jacket from a scarf before but the challenge was good fun. Working out the pattern so that it fitted the clients specifications as well as fitting on the amount of fabric was certainly a challenge, especially having to factor in the fringed hem, hood and pockets. But I’m please with the results, the image below is a before and after of the scarf and a close up of the side-seam pockets.
