I had the most memorable last day of 2015 I think I’ve ever had. I spent the day kayaking around the Abel Tasman national park coast line. I went with a tour guided by a girl called Morgan who was so much fun. We saw seals, birds and such beautiful scenery the water was turquoise in the sunshine.
There were 4 kayaks in our group, we made stops of deserted beaches for hot chocolate and lunch breaks. It was like paddling through scenes of pirates of the Caribbean, just the most beautiful golden beaches and thick woodland with clear blue skies ahhh heaven!! We got back and I cooked with my Dutch dorm mates before we headed off to the beach (conveniently located outside our hostel) for fireworks to celebrate the new year.
It’s strange to think we were in the 2016 but everyone at home was in 2015 for another 13 hours or so.
I’ve had a few strange days since NYE consisting of beach sunsets, lots of bus time and a few panic attacks, which has been a challenge but hopefully they will bugger off because I’ve booked a surf lesson for this afternoon and they will not get in my way!
